Class C Products Seminar
So much to learn in our industry theses days………………thankfully fastener associations have taken an active role in educating the industry. On March 13th, the Mid-West Fastener Association conducted a seminar to familiarize the industry with Class C Products. There are many of these products but in a one day seminar many were discussed. As Rich Pease, of the Education Committee, reminded the attendees “Remember these products are excellent for an add on sale.” Fastener life isn’t solely about bolts, nuts, and screws any more. Diversity is the key to survival!
The line up of excellent speakers included John Selgrad/Selpro Company, Ron Nelson/Alcoa Fastening Systems, Toby Horn/Sherex Fastening Solutions, Mike Felty/All American Reps, Char Cooper and Tony Van Hoozer/Cable Tie Express, Dan Harriger/Advance Components Inc., Bill Petrow/Richco Inc., Jeanette Turner and Patrick Metzker/Quick Cable Corp. With Ed Lacerra/Kriscot Sales as our MC he assured all attendees left with new knowledge in many areas including blind rivets, rivet nuts, cable ties, tinnerman products, plastic hardware and fasteners, electrical terminals and connections. Applications, markets purchasing these products, and alternative products were discussed in a hands on session.
Thank you to our Education Committee chaired by David Gawlik/Stelfast Inc., Thomas Anderson/Action Threaded Products, Ed Lacerra/Kriscot Sales and Rich Pease/Federal Screw for all their time and efforts in coordinating this new and much needed program.
