I’d like to start out with a big thank you to Mike O’Connor and Innovative Components for their hospitality in opening their plant for the Association’s opening event of the year. Also, thanks to Danielle Bennett and Kevin Tucker from Scanwell Logistics, who, along with Mike , were our speakers for the dinner portion of the evening. Their presentations were interesting and informative, and well received by the overflow crowd.

We had a great turnout for our Class C Products Seminar on March 13th. This latest addition to our education lineup provided new insights on alternative fastener products that fall outside “traditional” fastener lines. We are grateful to all our instructors at this daylong seminar who did an exceptional job.

After returning from Milwaukee’s meeting on April 10th, MWFA returns to Rockford and Giovanni’s for our dinner meeting on the 29th of May when we will have Congressman Don Manzullo address our industry.

Next up, on June 16th, is the major event of our year – The MWFA’s 27th Annual Fastener Show followed by the 56th Annual Golf Outing. The Table Top Show, as well as the Golf Outing, is being held at beautiful Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling. We’re already almost two thirds full, so if you are interested in exhibiting, please contact Nancy Rich (847-438-8338). The format for golfing on the 17th will again be a shotgun start which limits us to 144 golfers. We are also looking for sponsors for various portions of these events. Again, please contact Nancy as soon as possible to reserve your company’s positions.
